Sappi Fine Paper s Cloquet, Minn., location is one of many production facilities located throughout North America, Europe and Southern Africa with the capacity to produce 5 million tons of paper and 3.5 million tons of pulp per year. Sappi is one of the world's largest producers of coated fine paper. The quality printing paper has a variety of end-uses in glossy magazines and catalogues, books, direct mail, general commercial print and chemical cellulose. It is used primarily in the manufacture of viscose fiber for merchants, publishers and printers. Coated fine paper represents two-thirds of the company s total sales. In addition, the company has significant businesses in pulp, coated specialty paper, packaging grades and uncoated fine paper. The company s division of Sappi Forest Products, a pulp, packaging and newsprint business based in South Africa, is one of the world's largest producers of chemical cellulose.
