History
One Yoga opened its doors in July 2002. In April 2005, seeing the need to make yoga and mindfulness practices more broadly accessible, a group of instructors took the initiative to apply for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. The application was approved in March 2007, allowing staff and teachers to implement new programming, including a community outreach program; sliding-fee rates for memberships and classes; and mission-driven classes, workshops, and series. In December 2010, One Yoga moved from Franklin & Lyndale to its studio on W. 26th St. in Minneapolis, its home for nearly 10 years. In October 2020, after closing to in-person classes for more than half a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, One Yoga went completely virtual by ending the lease on the 26th St. location. One Yoga is looking forward to opening a new studio in the Ivy Building in the Seward neighborhood of Minneapolis in March 2022.
