The Nisswa Police Department is responsible for the peace and order in one of the finest resort and vacation areas in the State of Minnesota. Each officer of the Department is committed to a community policing philosophy which is reflected in our following mission statement. Our mission is to maintain peace and order through the provision of police services that are of the highest quality and responsive to the needs of Nisswa Community. We will contribute to the safety and security of the community by apprehending those who commit criminal acts, by developing partnerships to prevent, reduce or eliminate neighborhood problems, and by providing police services that are fair, unbiased, judicious, and respectful of the dignity of individuals. Although Nisswa has a constant population of just under 2, 000, during vacation periods our 18 square mile area has been estimated to have a population of nearly 25, 000. Therefore the City is policed by a force of five full time police officers and four reserves officers.
