The Hopkins-Minnetonka Joint Recreation Services Department develops, promotes and provides recreation programs for approximately 70,000 residents of the Hopkins and Minnetonka communities in Minnesota. The department offers a range of leagues for more than 45 activities at over 50 sites. It also manages playground programs and outdoor skating rinks at nearly 14 sites. The Hopkins-Minnetonka Joint Recreation Services Department organizes Minnetonka Summer Festival and schedules city-owned athletic fields. The department publishes recreation brochures for the residents and registers more than 54,000 program participants every year. Its facilities division schedules, supervises and operates city-owned recreational facilities, including the Minnetonka Community Center, Shady Oak Beach and the Williston Fitness Center.
