Founded in 1984, the Minnesota Indian Women's Resource Center is a nonprofit social and educational services organization. It works for the growth and development of American-Indian women and their families. The center provides a range of chemical health, housing and educational programs. The Minnesota Indian Women's Resource Center also offers short-term emotional and group support services for the victims of sexual assault. It maintains an emergency apartment for homeless and in-transition clients. Its Cherish the Children Learning Center provides child care and early childhood education services for more than 60 children. The center additionally offers the Healing Journey Program, which includes case management, addiction and recovery education, and social and cultural support services for chemically dependent women. The Minnesota Indian Women's Resource Center is located in Minneapolis.
