History
Owner, Isidro Perez came to the United States from a small town in Mexico in the early seventies. He came in search of a better quality of life. He worked hard and saved up as much money as he could and by 1989 his dream of opening a business became a reality. In Mexico the Perez family had owned operated bakeries for three generations, Isidro having learned the trade from an early age, decided to do what he did best and opened his very first bakery in Chicago, Illinois. In 1994 Isidro decided to move to Minneapolis, Minnesota to raise his family. He opened the first Marissa's Bakery (named after his first born) on Minneapolis' famous Eat Street. The bakery, although small, stayed true to its values and was a hit among fellow Minneapolitans. Since then the company has expanded its market significantly but has remained a favorite in Minneapolis.
