MAD DADS of Minneapolis is a community organization that has been serving the Minneapolis community for 25 years. With a mission to defend against drugs and social disorder, MAD DADS is dedicated to promoting safety, positive youth programming, and job creation. Founded in 1989 by concerned African-American men and parents in Omaha, Nebraska, MAD DADS has since expanded to Minneapolis, where it continues to make a significant impact. Led by Executive Director Jordan Borer Nelson, who himself has overcome a troubled past, MAD DADS is committed to creating change and equitable solutions for the community. With accomplishments that include serving over 92,000 families and spending more than 1,000,000 hours in the streets working to reduce violence, MAD DADS is a vital force in the fight against drugs, gangs, and violence in Minneapolis.
