Amity Park in Duluth, MN is a year-round trail hub and endurance community center that brings the local community together and promotes healthy outdoor recreation, environmental responsibility, and lifelong learning. With a rich history of outdoor recreation, the historic Lester-Amity Chalet serves as a gathering place for a new generation of outdoor enthusiasts and offers a warm space to relax, enjoy a cup of tea or hot cocoa, and take off your boots after a day of skiing.
Managed by the Duluth XC Ski Club, the chalet has undergone restoration projects to upgrade its facilities, including furnaces, electrical systems, windows, bathrooms, and a solar panel grid that covers 75% of the energy costs for lighting the ski trails. Dogs are not allowed in the chalet, but the surrounding trails are dog-friendly, and visitors can rent the chalet for events, meetings, and other gatherings. The chalet also serves as the home base for the Duluth Composite High School Mountain Biking Team during their season from July to October.
