Founded in 1994, Kennedy Elementary School serves students from kindergarten through grade six. Its curriculum includes art, health, language arts, English, reading, mathematics, music, physical education, science and social studies. The school offers media center services to develop students skills to become independent users of libraries and media centers, run prepared software on a computer, apply logic and problem solving strategies using the computer and recognize the ethical and social impact of computers on society. The school is part of Mankato Area Public Schools, which organizes various special education programs that include the Early Childhood Special Education, Early Intervention Committee and Transition Resources programs. Its early intervention committee program develops coordination between various agencies and encourages early identification and services for young children and their families. Kennedy Elementary School is located in Mankato, Minn.
