InterMart began in May 1995, as an international trading company marketing, selling and shipping products from the United States to Japan. In the course of doing business, we created our Shipping Solutions export documentation software that allows companies to create their export documents up to 80% faster than before. Because it was the first easy-to-use and affordable export software solution, Shipping Solutions quickly became America's #1 export software. As we marketed and sold Shipping Solutions, we heard from many of our customers and prospects that they couldn't find good, reliable and affordable information they needed to meet their export and import needs. Once again, most information resources were targeted at large corporations with large budgets and their own legal departments. In 1999, we created International Business Training to meet this need. We have worked hard to put together a collection of resources that will help novices and professionals learn more about the import-export process. In addition to scouring the web for important international trade-related resources, we have hired a number of well-respected industry consultants to write regular monthly columns for the website on topics ranging from export marketing and sales to export and import documentation and procedures to letters of credit and other forms of international payments. We sponsor a free email discussion list that allows international trade practitioners to post questions and answers to other international traders from around the world. And we offer a variety of reference books, self-study classes and one-day seminars that give importers and exporters the chance to learn more about the various aspects of their jobs. In 2007 we leveraged the knowledge and experience of our seminar instructors and began offering one-on-one reviews of companies' import, export and NAFTA procedures.
