The founder and principal of Income Protection Strategies, Scott specializes in protecting successful professionals and small business owners from loss of income due to disability, critical illness, or death. Graduating from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a B.S in Education, Scott began his career with the Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company and the Mutual Association for Professional Services (MAPS), working with medical doctors, veterinarians, dentists, CPA's and attorneys. He also spent five years in advanced marketing with Prudential Financial. Scott continually updates his education in financial services and has earned the following professional designations from The American College, Bryn Mawr, PA: Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) Chartered Advisor for Senior Living (CASL) Scott is a 35-year member of the Society of Financial Professionals (FSP) and is a past president of the Greater Phoenix chapter, also serving as a board member for the Twin Cities chapter. He was the founding president of the East Valley Association of Health Underwriters and a board member of the Tri-city chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisers (NAIFA). Scott is active in his community. He is the immediate past chair of the board of directors for the I-94 West Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Rogers Rotary Club. He also plays lead trumpet for Morpheus, an 11-piece rock band that performs concerts for small charities, helping raise over $120,000 in the past 4½ years. In his spare time, Scott composes music and leads his jazz quintet, Gibraltar, and recently released a CD, In the Jungle. He is also a fan of both college and pro basketball and football and is an avid reader of spy thrillers.
