The current ownership acquired the bank in 1973. The employees (through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan) became part owners in 1985, and have increased their ownership since then and became majority owners in 2009. State Bank of Hawley Moorhead Office In 1993 the owners of State Bank of Hawley recognized a need for an independent community bank in Moorhead. In January 1994 a full-service branch was opened at 3004 14th St South. On November 17, 2014 State Bank of Hawley was pleased to announce that they changed their name to Valley Premier Bank. This was done to illustrate that we provide banking services to not only the Hawley and Moorhead communities but the surrounding areas as well.
