I was working for the largest and most established home rental company in Minneapolis and St. Paul and there were a lot of clients and other Realtors I could not help because the owner and Broker took the lion's share of the commission. There was not enough money to adequately compensate the thousands of Realtors in the area to mine their vast networks for the very best renters either. I also had to handle too many accounts in order to make ends meet. The solution was to start Distinctive Rental Homes where all my clients work with me the agent, me the Broker, and me the owner. By cutting out the middlemen, who add marginal value, I can afford to reward other Realtors well who could actually help me and my client. It just seemed like a wiser way to allocate the commission. It also affords me the luxury of providing top-notch service to my clients.
