Chippewa Valley Ethanol Company, also known as CVEC, is a corn ethanol plant. Established in 1996, the organization works with Frontline BioEnergy, an Iowa technology company, and integrate biomass gasification technology to provide thermal energy for its corn ethanol process. Chippewa Valley Ethanol Company focuses on replacing its natural gas energy inputs with biomass power from corn cobs and other agriculture residues, grasses and wood. It provides ethanol-blended fuels to a variety of gasoline retailers. The company also manufactures industrial-grade ethyl alcohol for use in the food, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and other industries. In addition, Chippewa Valley Ethanol Company hosts public demonstrations of several corn cob collection systems.
