Laurence McKinley Gould Library serves Carleton College in Minnesota by offering a wide range of books for undergraduate students. The library has a collection of more than 500,000 books, over 1,000 active print journal subscriptions, nearly 13,000 electronic journals and approximately 400,000 United States government publications, including maps. The library also maintains a collection of more than 8,000 volumes in its special collections. It houses world maps from the U.S. Defense Mapping Agency, U.S. Geological survey and the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency. It also provides full-text electronic access to periodical articles and provides federal government publications in print and on microfiche.
