The purpose of Brown County Social Services is to provide an array of services and assistance designed to help individuals. The department s social services include family and children services that are directed at meeting the physical, emotional and safety needs of children and families; adult mental health services that provide assistance for adults experiencing ongoing difficulties with their emotional or mental health; and chemical dependency services, which include evaluation, intervention and help for eligible persons and their families with alcohol and/or drug problems. Other services include developmental disabilities services that help to find and coordinate services for persons and their families with developmental disabilities and other related conditions; community senior services, which include services to assist the elderly to maintain their independence; and adult protection services, which provide protection and services to adults not able to meet their own needs. The department also provides day care and foster care licensing assistance services. Brown County Social Services is located in New Ulm, Minn.
