Founded by German immigrants in 1856, Assumption Catholic Church is the oldest church in Richfield. Staying true to its original immigrant tradition, Assumption is the only church in Richfield to offer bilingual services in Spanish and English and has a very strong connection to the Latino community. It offers a social program called La Mission that helps new-to-the-U.S.-families find agencies, employment and legal services, in addition to providing E.S.L. classes.
Assumption is one of the three Catholic churches that supports Blessed Trinity, a private Catholic school in Richfield. They also have a cemetary utilitized by other Catholic churches. During the school year, Assumption rents part of the building to Partnerships Charter School.
