WZPX-TV is a television station affiliated with the Ion Television network, broadcasting on analog UHF channel 43 and digital channel 44 in the Grand Rapids, Lansing and Jackson, Mich., markets. The station is licensed to Battle Creek, Mich. and is owned by ION Media Networks. ION Media Networks, is a broadcasting company which owns and operates one of the largest broadcast television station group in the United States, as measured by the number of television households ION s stations serve. The company owns and/or operates over 60 full-power broadcast television stations, including stations in each of the top 20 U.S. markets and more than 39 of the top 50 markets. WZPX-TV went on the air on October 1996 under the call letters of WJUE, carrying infomercials. Within a short period of time the station changed call letters to WILV. For a time WZPX also carried programming from UPN, but on August 1999 UPN programming moved to WXSP.
