As one of eight elementary schools in the Birmingham Public School District, West Maple Elementary is off Inkster Road in Bloomfield Hills and serves 580 students in the district.
From preschool through Grade 5, students take classes in art, music and physical education, along with core academic subjects. Students begin receiving Spanish instruction in the third grade. Besides the option to pick up band and orchestra in the fifth grade, students can also participate in community service activities throughout the year.
Supervision options for busy parents include Kids Club, which provides care before and after school. All elementary schools in the Birmingham Public School District come equipped with gymnasiums, separate cafeterias and a stage. West Maple Elementary also has a pool occasionally used by fourth and fifth graders.
