The Washtenaw Friend of the Court is a statutorily created agency of the Circuit Court that assists the court with its domestic relations docket. It assists the court by helping resolve domestic relations disputes and enforcing the court's orders for custody, parenting time and support. The Washtenaw Friend of the Court conducts investigations and makes reports and recommendations to the court regarding custody, parenting time and the amount of child support, including medical and spousal support. It also collects, records and sends various support payments as ordered by the court. Located in Ann Arbor, Mich., it offers mediation when both parents agree to participate over custody or parenting time of children.
