Battle Creek Area Math & Science Center
Battle Creek Area Mathematics and Science Center is one of the 33 regional centers in the Michigan Mathematics and Science Centers Network. It provides leadership, curriculum support, professional development and student services to educators in local school districts, students, teachers, and administrators. Located in Battle Creek, Mich., the center also serves as a resource clearinghouse for educational materials and information. Occupying the former Springfield High School campus, the center features fully equipped Macintosh and computer laboratory, with fiber-T3 Broadband Internet connections, 16 Apple iBooks, scanners, digital cameras and laptops. Its curriculum includes fundamentals of math, accelerated math, precalculus, calculus AB and BC, multivariate calculus, differential equations, linear and abstract algebra, advanced geometry, computers and statistics, discrete mathematics and graph theory, and physics, chemistry and biology. The center also offers courses in UNIX, independent research methods, accelerated, analytical and organic chemistry, forensic science, engineering, microbiology, astronomy, biotechnology, and genetics and recombinant DNA technology.
