The Transitions Center is an educational institution that serves students with disabilities. The center provides programs in vocational training, work adjustment and adult independent living. Its postsecondary transitional program provides school-and community-based instruction to students between the ages of 18 and 26. The Transitions Center also offers training in social, interpersonal and mobility skills. The center provides a variety of leisure and recreational activities. Its work-based learning program trains students in the areas of work adjustment skills and career exploration. In addition, the center conducts classes in resume writing and offers self-esteem building sessions. It is a part of the Saginaw Intermediate School District, which was founded in 1962 by the Michigan Legislature. The Transitions Center is located in Saginaw, Mich.
