History
Spence Brothers was founded in 1893 when brothers Hugh and Matt Spence began rebuilding the east side of Saginaw, Michigan after a devastating fire. The founders and their sons were dedicated to growing the business and earning the trust of every customer. Working with Spence Brothers meant quality and dependability - a reputation that quickly spread across the state. The family business survived during the depression years by building government Post Offices throughout the eastern United States. The following decades brought unprecedented growth to Spence Brothers through second and third generation leaders' ability to tackle any project, regardless of size or complexity. Today, Spence Brothers is led by a team of third and fourth generation family members, as well as key extended family employees. Together, they have led the company through another period of tremendous growth and continuous improvement in servicing customers.
