The Sadr Foundation was founded in 1999 by Imam Rabab Sadr Charafeddine. Its main purpose is to improve the lives of the underpriviledged and poverty-striken in the U.S. and abroad, with a special focus on Lebanon.
The Sadr Foundation has been recognized for its contributions over the years including donations of time and funds to the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund, Focus Hope, the Wayne County Youth Fund and the Children's Hospital of Detroit. The foundation also holds a fundraising dinner once a year, which is attended by over 1,000 participants each year.
