Open Monday through Friday, the department comprises accounting, assessing, purchasing, technology applications and central services divisions. Located in Southfield, Mich., it maintains internal staff support, and provides support services to other city departments. The department s accounting division performs all financial record keeping and reporting functions, daily operations, biweekly payroll services, accounts payable and budget monitoring, and annual audit work. Additionally, it provides assistance to the Downtown Development Authority, Economic Development Corporation, Local Development Finance Authority, and Tax Increment Finance Authority.
