Norton Shores Police Department provides security services to the community. The department is voluntarily contracted with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc., in 1988. Based in Norton Shores, Mich., the police department's patrol division is responsible for conducting preventative patrols, responding to calls for service, preliminary criminal investigations, traffic enforcement and other miscellaneous field services. Its services include maintaining all law enforcement records, including reports, citations, warrants, and subpoenas. The administrative sergeant maintains compliance files necessary for international law enforcement accreditation as established by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). Norton Shores Police Department offers safety programs, including firearms training, archery training, first aid, tree stand safety and tracking.
