Northern Michigan Equine Therapy (NMET) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit outpatient rehabilitation facility located in Bay Township, MI. They utilize the unique healing power of horses as a therapeutic tool in occupational therapy, hippotherapy, and their specially developed mental health program, HorseSense. NMET has successfully treated individuals with a wide range of conditions, including autism spectrum disorders, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
At NMET, clients not only receive effective therapy but also become part of a supportive and welcoming community. The therapy sessions provide respite for families, many of whom suffer from caregiver fatigue, and clients often develop a deep bond with their therapy horse, therapist, and volunteers. With a track record of achieving remarkable results in less time than traditional therapy, NMET is dedicated to changing lives and bringing hope to those who have not found success with other treatment options.
