The Niles Utilities Department works under the city of Niles, Mich. It works to provide electric, water and wastewater treatment services. The department is governed by an advisory board that is appointed by the city council. It maintains a water division that has a water supply capacity of more than seven million gallons per day. The department Division offers reliable and cost-effective electric service to more than 7,500 customers. Operational for over 100 years, the Niles Utilities Department serves a population of nearly 13,000 residents.
