The Michigan Gastroenterology Institute was founded in 1998 with the merger of Mid Michigan Gastroenterology Specialists and Gastroenterology Associates. It provides educational classes in the areas of gastrointestinal and liver diseases, including endoscopy, panendoscopy, sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy. The Michigan Gastroenterology Institute is affiliated with Michigan State University to improve patient care, enhance education and conduct research in the area of gastroenterology. It provides educational opportunities to the medical students of the College of Osteopathic Medicine and the College of Human Medicine. The institute also trains interns and residents at Ingham Hospital and Sparrow Hospital. The Michigan Gastroenterology Institute is located in East Lansing, Mich.
