The Michigan Association of Vehicle Theft Investigators (MAVTI) is a registered 501c3 organization founded in 2000. Comprised of law enforcement officers, insurance representatives, and other professionals, MAVTI is dedicated to the prevention, detection, investigation, and prosecution of vehicle theft and related crimes in Michigan communities. They provide free in-state training to police officers and investigators, covering various aspects of vehicle theft, including identification, investigation, and current theft trends.
MAVTI hosts an annual Fall Training Conference, featuring sessions on modern methods of vehicle theft, best practices for theft investigations, and updates from vehicle manufacturers. They also recognize outstanding individuals in the field, such as Officer Daryl Myers, who received the inaugural Douglas M. McCallister Achievement Award for recovering 62 stolen vehicles during his patrol duty. MAVTI is committed to working with their board of directors and partners to continue their mission of combating vehicle theft in Michigan.
