History
Michigan Institute for Contemporary Art (MICA) was incorporated in 1984 as the North Lansing Art Association. In 1992, the name was changed to Business and Art Development Association of Historic North Lansing. In 1994, the name became Old Town Business & Art Development Association. More recently, the name has changed to Michigan Institute for Contemporary Art.

MICA Gallery showcases innovative Contemporary visual art exhibits and corresponding programming that serves to be a catalyst for change in our community. MICA Gallery is on a bi-monthly curatorial schedule. Our programming changes to support the visual art exhibit and to engage the community. Our events include exhibit openings, Contemporary dance, poetry readings, live music and more.
