In 1989 Michael A. Vlasic founded MAVD in connection with his family's business, Vlasic Investments, LLC. Since the 1930s, the Vlasic family has been an active investor and operator of businesses in Southeast Michigan, most notably Vlasic Foods which was sold to Campbell Soup Company in 1978. MAVD is headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan. MAVD's real estate activities were concentrated in the Southeast Michigan region until early 2006 when MAVD created its Colorado subsidiary, MAVD West, LLC. MAVD West, LLC is located in Denver, Colorado and focuses on acquiring and managing real estate assets along the Colorado Front Range. Since 1989, MAVD has actively acquired and developed projects representing over 3, 000, 000 square feet of commercial/office space, 1, 000 acres of land, at a total value of over $500 million. MAVD currently manages a portfolio consisting of over 600, 000 square feet of office space and 300+ acres of development land. MAVD maintains a capital connection with Vlasic Investments and continues to foster relationships with several other private and institutional capital partners.
