History
I was originally Jacqueline's Lapidary Company starting 1986, doing gemstone cutting for jewelry stores from all over the state of Michigan and one in Chicago. I desired a creative change and started working with wire and creating my own jewelry. I changed the name of my business in 1992 to Jackleens Jems . When I married Patrick in 1997 we became partners and turned into Jackleens Jems Incorporated. We are in our third location in Beulah.
Specialties
We are in house silversmiths & lapidary. We specialize in petoskey stones and other prehistoric fossilized Michigan coral. Leland blue, a by product from the old iron ore foundaries. It's an accidental unusual glass, and a residual product. It comes in various shades of blue, green and purple and the air pockets create different textures in the material. Lake Superior Agates and Kona Dolomite from Marquette county are all native gemstones from Michigan. Gem cutting is a large part of our craft but we are silversmiths as well. We happily make custom jewelry from your rough or cut stones. We have been making jewelry in Beulah for 25 years and in the jewelry business for 36 years. We also do a wide range of repair work and change watch batteries. Professional pearl stringer too! We also enjoy working with unique jaspers and agates, turquoise and gemstones from around the world.
