J.A. Lanigan Elementary strives to maintain an atmosphere of honesty, responsibility, respect and caring through commitment to The Lanigan Way. The school receives $200,000 annually in Title I federal funds, distributed based on rates of poverty within the community. Lanigan has earned an "A" grade on the annual State of Michigan Report Card and currently meets Annual Yearly Progress standards set by the federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act. Every Lanigan teacher meets the "highly qualified" standard established by NCLB. Lanigan offers an after-school basketball program for 4th graders. More than 200 parents are involved in the Lanigan PTA.
