Established in 1838, the Ingham County Sheriff's Delhi Division works to provide law enforcement services, deter criminal activities, maintain law and order, and protect lives and property. Located in Holt, Mich., it maintains several specialized units, including traffic and emergency services, community policing, civil, victim advocate unit, training and motor division reserve. The office supports Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), which is an educational classroom program that helps to prevent drug abuse and violence among children. The Ingham County Sheriff's Delhi Division also operates a victim advocate unit handles issues related to domestic violence, juvenile crime, sexual offenses, traffic accidents, personal injury and drug abuse. It additionally supports the Explorer program, which offers law enforcement training to students between the ages of 14 and 21.
