Founded in 2003, the Hamtramck Academy serves more than 400 students in kindergarten through grade eight. The academy offers participation in extracurricular activities, such as middle school student government, student council, cheerleading, basketball and volleyball. It also provides several student clubs that include math count and Spanish. The academy is chartered by Bay Mills Community College. The Hamtramck Academy offers classes for reading and mathematics. The academy offers full- and half-day kindergarten programs. It also provides after-school enrichment programs. The academy is a part of National Heritage Academies, which is an education service provider that partners with independent school boards for making charter schools.
