Emerson Church Unitarian Universalist is also known as "the barn church," as it is located in a historic barn just north of Wattles in Troy. Unitarian Universalism is a liberal religion, emphasizing the search for spiritual meaning. The congregation is united by shared values, not creed or dogma, and stresses individual freedom of belief. The church is committed to social justice, equal rights, humanitarian service and responsible environmental stewardship.
Sunday services atart at 10:30 am, and run for about one hour. All are welcome to attend services and join the congregation for coffeee hour. Religious education and child care are offered during Sunday services. The current minister is Reverend Suzanne Paul, past president of the American Humanist Association.
