Disability Network Eastern Michigan (DNEM) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting inclusion and independence for individuals with disabilities in Huron, Lapeer, Macomb, Oakland, Sanilac, St. Clair, and Tuscola Counties. Through resources, advocacy, support, and education, DNEM works towards breaking down barriers and empowering individuals to make personal choices and achieve greater independence.
With a team of 44 full and part-time employees, including 77 individuals with disabilities, DNEM provides core services such as advocacy, independent living skills training, information referral, peer support, and transition services. Their commitment to the independent living philosophy ensures that people with disabilities have equal rights, options, and control over their own lives, just like individuals without disabilities.
