Belle Isle Aquarium

The Friends of Belle Isle Aquarium Archive provides a historical look at the years 2004-2010 when the Belle Isle Aquarium was closed during the Kwame Kilpatrick Administration. Despite some inactive links, the archive offers a content-rich overview of the struggle to reopen the aquarium. Today, the Belle Isle Aquarium is managed by the Belle Isle Conservancy and is part of Belle Isle, leased by the City of Detroit to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Parks Department.
