Michigan Milk Producers Association is a member owned and operated dairy cooperative serving almost 2,700 farmers in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Wisconsin. MMPA markets approximately 3 billion pounds of milk annually. Its customers include Kraft, Ross Laboratories, Beatrice/Hunt-Wesson, Yoplait, Nestles, and Edy s Ice Cream. Headquartered in Novi, Mich., the company owns two processing plants that are used to store and keep excess supply from reaching the market. Founded in 1916, MMPA milk is sold to milk bottlers, national cheese manufacturers. The milk is also used by the cooperatives to produce butter, nonfat dry milk and condensed milk. MMPA maintains its own laboratory at the headquarters facility.
