Carnegie Institute, founded in 1947, is a postsecondary training institute located in Troy, Mich. Its medical assistant students receive training in different specialty areas related to health care services, including administrative medical office procedures, clinical medical office assisting procedures and medical laboratory procedures. Students in its medical administrative assistant program receive training in a wide range of medical office procedures that emphasizes the development of marketable skills. Its medical business specialist program covers typing and transcription of medical forms, including histories and physicals, discharge summaries and chart notes. Students in its medical records transcription program receive comprehensive training in medial terminology and anatomy as applied to health care records and medical documents. The institute also provides financial aid to qualified students. Carnegie Institute is recognized by the Michigan State Department of Education.
