The Calhoun County Road Commission maintains and repairs 87 bridges and more than 1,300 miles of county roads. It also maintains more than 200 miles of state highways throughout the County on a contract basis. The commission s operations include snow removal, pothole patching, seal coating, traffic signals, road signs, bridges, culverts, dust control on gravel roads, roadside mowing, pavement marking, guard rail and various other road related work. It also offers services, which include reviewing roads for plats and subdivisions, abandonment and issuing road and soil erosion permits.
