Calhoun County Medical Care Facility, with its facility in Battle Creek, Mich., provides long-term care and short-term rehabilitation services for senior citizens. Established in 1977, it is a nonprofit institution certified for Medicare and Medicaid and offers more than 120 beds. It is staffed and equipped to care for postoperative residents, patients suffering from Alzheimer's disease, residents with debilitative diseases and residents recovering from stroke or fractures. The facility specializes in wound care services, rehabilitation and in-house therapy. It serves nutritionally balanced meals that are individualized according to resident's need. In addition to skilled nursing services, it also provides other services, which include personal care and social activities, such as recreational and music therapies, exercise, socialization, religious services, crafts, cooking, gardening, pet therapy, shopping excursions and dining out at local restaurants.
