The Worcester Regional Transit Authority provides scheduled bus service throughout the city of Worcester, Mass., and 13 surrounding communities, including Auburn, Boylston, Brookfield, Clinton, East Brookfield, Holden, Leicester, Millbury, Oxford, Shrewsbury, Spencer, Webster and West Boylston, Mass. The WRTA also provides a variety of special services for elderly and disabled residents in the entire service area. The organization's fleet consists of more than 40 buses and 100 vans and minibuses. It logs an average of 11 million passenger miles annually. The WRTA is a public, nonprofit organization funded by federal, state and local money, as well as fare box and advertising revenue.
