Founded in 1870, Wellesley College is a liberal arts educational institution for women that offers baccalaureate degree programs. It serves more than 2,300 students. The college provides classes in history, computer science, English, physics, mathematics, astronomy, Spanish and German. Wellesley College also offers guidance counseling sessions. The college provides opportunities for students to participate in a range of sports activities, such as cross-country, soccer, swimming, softball, hockey, volleyball and tennis. It has over 150 student organizations, including Canadian, outing, Russian and psychology clubs. Wellesley College maintains a library that provides a variety of educational resources and materials. In addition, the college features nearly 20 residence halls.
