The Haverhill Fire department is a public safety organization that works towards fire prevention, public education and emergency response. The department provides services beyond firefighting, such as building inspections, code enforcement, building plan review, fire investigations, and student and elder fire education. The Haverhill Fire department also offers fire extinguisher training for businesses, emergency medical response, water and ice rescue, motor vehicle extrication and hazardous materials response. The department provides these services to more than 60,000 residents, workers and visitors throughout more than 35 square miles.
