John Wiley & Sons Inc
Wiley-Blackwell is a leading society publisher, partnering with more than 650 academic and professional societies to publish 800 journals and 650 text and reference books annually. These texts cover a wide range of academic, medical and professional subjects, including art, business, economics, finance, construction, health services, humanities, law, science, mathematics, medicine, social sciences and veterinary medicine. Wiley-Blackwell traces its roots back to the late 1800s when a small bookstore opened near the university in Oxford, England. The organization evolved into publishing companies: Blackwell Publishing, which focused on the humanities and social sciences, and Blackwell Sciences, which was devoted to medicine, scientific and professional publishing. Blackwell Publishing Ltd was established in 2001 by merging Blackwell Publishers and Blackwell Science, and has since become Wiley-Blackwell. The publishing company has nearly 1,000 employees in offices in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, China, Denmark, Germany, Singapore and Japan.
