History
In 2016, Chef Jonathan had the opportunity to open a restaurant of his own in Wakefield, Massachusetts. With the music turned up and the door open, the tiny 20 seat spot filled with New Englanders who loved Jonathan's authentic Southern cooking. In spring 2018 he and his partner Cenk Emre closed The Porch in anticipation of opening a new and larger iteration of his small Southern restaurant in Medford. The Porch's opening team includes executive chef Alex Horowitz, most recently the executive chef at The James in Needham, who worked with Jonathan at Blue Ginger. The 8500 square foot space features seating for 250, a 54 foot-long bar, a stage for weekly live music performances, a dedicated private events space, and seasonal outdoor dining with 50 additional seats on the patio.

The Porch Southern Fare & Juke Joint is a laid back spot that's serious about BBQ, cocktails, and live music. Serving up authentic Southern BBQ courtesy of its 1000 lb wood smoker and a menu that highlights the best of Southern cooking, Nashville-native and chef/owner Jonathan Post creates an authentic Southern dining experience that celebrates the food, music, and hospitality of his home city.
