Town Hall is located in the downtown area at the intersection of Porter and Pearl Streets. Open since 1881, the building is one of the most recognized and historic landmarks in Stoughton. The Town Hall houses the Town Manager's office, the Board of Selectmen, the town clerk, the tax collector, the town auditor, the town treasurer, the veterans' agent, the Zoning Board, the Planning Board, the Conservation Commission, the Recreation Department and the Board of Public Health, among other departments. Great Hall, located on the third floor, is the main meeting room.
At Town Hall residents can register to vote; pay excise or real estate taxes; obtain birth or death certificates; obtain marriage licenses; obtain copies of property assessment cards; obtain a dog license; obtain zoning or building permits; and inquire about veteran's services.
