HistoryDavis Publications began as part of Davis Press, a commercial printing company. Davis first published a magazine, The Applied Arts Book, soon renamed SchoolArts Magazine, to promote the idea that art and design should be a basic subject for all children in every year of their schooling. Today, Davis publishes SchoolArts in both print and digital format, books on topics such as the Reggio Emilia approach for early childhood educaiton, and digital images and slides from major art museums including the Worcester Art Museum, Museum of Modern Art, New York, and The National Gallery. Davis is best known as the publisher of the finest sequential art and design curriculums for early childhood through high school. These curriculums are used throughout the United States and Canada. Some have been translated into Dutch and Chinese.
